tzatziki…don’t take it personally

I don’t know what that title means.  I do know this stuff has a funny name.  Also, it’s delish.  I created this recipe to go on my lamburgers, but my hubby likes to eat it on potato chips like a Greek version of French onion dip.  It’s also perfect as a veggie dip.  It would probably even make a good facial, but there’s never any left for experimentation.


14 oz plain greek yogurt
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup seeded and minced cucumbers
1/4 cup minced chives
1 clove of garlic, minced
1.5 tsp freshly squeezed lime juice
1.5 tsp olive oil
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  1. Using the flat part of your knife, mash half of the salt and the finely minced garlic until it forms a paste.
  2. Mix everything together including the garlic paste.
  3. Stir well, cover and put in the fridge for at least 3 hours to let flavors develop.
  4. Slather on everything in sight (let me know if it makes it into your skin care regimen).
