homemade salsa

Salsa is a mainstay in our house.  Willa and I eat it on most things, and Rick usually nibbles on it at night after work.  Here’s a super easy and delicious salsa.  It will take you all of 3 minutes to make.  It’s great in my bean and corn salad, too!

Ingredients

1 onion
2 fresh jalapenos
1 cup cilantro
10 plum or vine ripened tomatoes
1/2 tbs salt
1/4 tbs liquid smoke
1 tsp pepper
1 can green chiles
1/2 tbs cumin

  1. Throw everything except cilantro and 8 tomatoes into a high powered blender (e.g. a Vitamix) or a food processor (e.g. Cuisinart) and puree.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and tomatoes and pulse/ process to desired consistency.
  3. Enjoy!

  1. We never buy store bought guacamole, the good stuff can be made with so little effort at home. We have however, cut corners with store bought salsa; but after reading your much easier than guac recipe, that is about to change. Thanks for the post. : )
